The Myrtles Plantation - by Michelle Cooley

The Myrtles Plantation is a haunted hotel with a dark, mysterious, and foreboding past which is located in south Louisiana. I had went on a tour of this plantation last year, and was very intrigued with my visit. In February of this year, my boyfriend and I decided to spend the night in the haunted mansion. My boyfriend was definitely a skeptic of the ghostly tales upon arrival although he admired the history the plantation had to offer. We chose the Judge's room which is located on the second story at the top of the famous staircase. Supposedly, a murder had taken place in the house and the person who was shot did not make it up the staircase before he died. We had keyed access to the foyer, staircase, and the entire section of the second story. My boyfriend had a strange feeling in our bedroom, but when the lights were out, he was terrified. All night, we could clearly hear someone climbing the staircase although it was impossible since no one had access to that section of the house besides us. Shuffling could be heard outside of our bedroom door, and at one point while I slept, my boyfriend actually saw an apparition at the foot of our bed. He was very eager to check out the next morning and has no desire to return needless to say. After arriving home and looking at our pics on the digital camera, he realized that there was a voice on one of the videos he had made while we were there. The voice clearly says in a man's loud whisper, "I am gonna get you." When I heard the voice which was spoken above me and my boyfriend's conversation, I shivered with goosebumps. I definitely want to return to The Myrtles Plantation and I recommend this place to anyone looking to capture a piece of history or a ghostly visitor from the past.
